Our history

In 2021, five young music enthusiasts founded the Unichor Bayreuth. In its short time of existence, the choir has already built up a loyal regular audience and offers 100 singers, including students and external members of the university, the opportunity to pursue their love of singing together in weekly rehearsals and regular concerts. At the “Sommerkonzert am See” in July 2023, which took place in collaboration with the University of Bayreuth Symphony Orchestra, the university choir thrilled an audience of over 2,000 people. In 2023, the Förderverein des Unichors Bayreuth e. V. was founded to provide financial support for the ever-growing success of the university choir.

Become a supporting member

Since its foundation, the Unichor Bayreuth has been financed mainly by donations and with the help of sponsors from Bayreuth and the surrounding area. In particular, the support of the University of Bayreuth through the kind provision of rooms and the acceptance of two teaching assignments for our conductors has been essential for our work from the very beginning.

With the founding of the Friends of the University Choir Bayreuth in 2023, we invite you or your company to support us with an uncomplicated annual contribution. With your contribution, you will help us to finance sheet music, rehearsal weekends and the booking of rooms for concerts, as well as the digital infrastructure of the choir and the association. About us

Since our foundation in 2023, it has been our task to financially support and legally strengthen the Unichor Bayreuth. Here you will find answers to the most important questions at a glance:

How can I become a supporting member?

You can download the membership application here online and send it off.

What will my sponsorship contribution be used for?

With your contribution, you help us to finance sheet music, rehearsal weekends and the booking of rooms for concerts, as well as the digital infrastructure of the choir and association. In this way, your contribution makes an important contribution to the preservation of campus culture and the cultural enrichment of the music city of Bayreuth.

How much is the membership fee?

The regular minimum annual contribution is €40 and €90 for legal entities. Students, school pupils, trainees and volunteers receive a discount and pay at least €15 per year. In the membership application, you can set your desired annual contribution above the minimum contribution yourself.

Can I donate without becoming a supporting member?
