In October 2023, we founded the Förderverein des Unichors Bayreuth e. V. to support the University Choir financially and strengthen it legally.
What we stand for!
With the help of our sponsoring members, we support the Unichor Bayreuth and thus contribute to enriching the cultural landscape on campus and in the city of Bayreuth.

How can I join?
As a singer:in
It is not necessary to register for the choir.
We rehearse every Wednesday at 8 pm during the lecture period in the Audimax of the University of Bayreuth.
You don’t have to be studying at the University of Bayreuth or have previous choir experience to join. Everyone is welcome!
If we have piqued your interest, just come to one of the first rehearsals at the beginning of the semester and join in!

What you can expect
Styles
Classical
On our journey through the history of classical choral literature, we leave no era out. Music for choirs has always been an important genre for baroque, classical, romantic and modern artists and is also an integral part of our repertoire.
Pop
We particularly enjoy modern pop songs. Our repertoire includes well-known melodies by famous artists such as The Mamas and The Papas, Adele and The Beatles. Arranged for mixed choir, these catchy tunes come to life.
Musical
Songs from musicals and musical films are at the heart of our repertoire. Our programs have already included pieces from Les Misérables, Spring Awakening, Les Choristes and The Greatest Showman. We are open to all requests from the singers.
New compositions
In addition to established pieces from various eras, our broad repertoire also includes contemporary popular music compositions. Since our foundation in 2021, we have already been able to present world premieres of various works, especially by our conductors, such as “Breaking through the sky” by Nic Schilling.
Why we
Our goal
Everyone is welcome to join us! No matter whether you have just started your studies or have been living and working in Bayreuth for a long time, whether you have been singing in choirs all your life or are joining for the first time, no matter whether you can read music or not. We see ourselves as a community that is open to everyone. If you enjoy singing together and are ready for the choir adventure, then you’ve come to the right place. After rehearsals, you are cordially invited to end the evening together at our weekly regulars’ table. There is also something for every taste in the repertoire. From baroque to classical to musical, we set ourselves no limits and sing anything we like.
